Blog Post #1

The color scheme and design I chose for my blog, reflect my creativity and positivity on life. The blue color gives off a sense a peace and calmness and the  background that is a picture  of a sailboat out at sea, shows my love for the ocean and dream to become a marine biologist in the future. The boat can also represent the hopes and dreams can set sail and be accomplished if we work hard for it. The bright red color is my way of making the title stand out as well as the green font color in the header. Red represents the strong emotions a person has according to an article by Carrie Cousins on tympanus.net. According to an article on about.com, green  is a cool color that symbolizes nature and the natural world and  also represents tranquility, good luck, health, and jealousy. Leaving out jealousy, the rest is what I wanted my blog to be. When people see my blog I wanted them to get psyched that something exciting  is on my blog, but relax and enjoy it as well. The final colors, white and purple, I chose to help keep the text visible but also give a sense of space (white) and wisdom (purple). The white text shows off how big the blog can be and the purple text shows that I have wisdom and I'm willing to share it on my blogs. The color isn't the only thing that I wanted the viewers to focus on,  I also wanted people to read my profile and learn a little more about me. I selected the font "Times New Roman" for the blog posts and introduction of myself. This font represents my formal and mature side. I also chose another the font for this blog that was for the title called "Fontdiner Swanky" to show my jokeful and fun loving side.
I wanted my blog to show my mature side, as well as my fun side. I also wanted to include my favorite colors that represent me and go along with what my goal are in life. Whenever I look at my article I have a mixture of emotions that give people a sense of serenity and tranquility, and hope whenever they look at it.
